Website for my final project.

I am working on a site targeting dancers. The site aims to raise awareness within the dance community-that is far beyond the ballet tradition. Within the site, all sorts of information will be posted that are dance related. From apparels, health products, supplies, dancer profiles, company profiles, photographers, rehearsal spaces, performance spaces, performances, job listing, auditions, and the likes. There will also be a section where people can review performances that they have seen or reviews provided by dance critics. Quicktime videos and flash videos will also be available so that dancers can get familiar with the styles and works of different choreographers as well as the companies.

Tawn,

Obviously I love your website and look forward to seeing it develop even further (although your site already surpasses anything I will wind up doing). I think there's a real need for this within the dance community and thank you for stepping up to the challenge.

My only comment about what you have already refers to your links of cool companies. You mentioned in class that the smaller companies are often shadowed by the larger, more established ones, but all your links are of the major companies (Even if they are modern and not ballet). I would perhaps rethink this if that is in fact your thought process behind the site.

Pam,

You are absolutely right. Those companies are just fillers for the moment. It is always the smaller companies that provide the more innovative and challenging works since they usually don't cater to a more commercial audience. That is my job and yours to seek out these smaller companies and introduce them to our dance audience.
